working title: Covalent Bonding

Co...
He comes to her in the heat of the night.
She awaits
like two electrons with a shared interest,
they become one source of energy.

Valence...
It's chemical.
It's powerful.
It holds tight, exchanging bursts of electricity
as fingertips mingle with tongues
and together, they refute the world around them.

Intertwined flesh on flesh,
all that is holy and unholy,
sacred, raw, passionate.

In hushed whispers,
he tells her secrets
that flush her cheeks with blush
and make her body ache to bond with his.

This is more than science,
This is more than feeling.
This is the moment upon which
all other chemical and physical reactions will take place.

Stretching limb to limb, atom to atom
action to reaction
they
will
stumble
and
fall.

And it will be glorious.

In the fraction of a second,
they form a sigma-bonded affair –
Two like-minded elements
forming one diatomic molecule...
One flesh.
One moment of singularity
against which, nothing in the world can overcome.

With tools of symmetry,
he pushes, she pulls him in.
He withdraws, she follows.
Overlapping orbitals
lead to their cyclical motion;
forever cementing this moment
in the history of all that has been or will be.

Nothing can become what they are in this moment.
Co-valence is the the sharing of power between
two elemental forces.
It is the strongest bond known to man.
It is scientific.
It is chemical.
And yet,

It is

so

much.

More.
